5 Reasons We Think a Small Home is Better

Bigger isn’t always better in our word. I’m sure most of us can agree that a larger bill, a huge mess or even a supersized waistline aren’t things we’d choose over the smaller option.

So when it comes to home size, is the bigger option, the BETTER option? There is a lot to be said about the benefits of owning your own home but with house prices on the rise, is a smaller- newer home the best option for you?

Below you’ll find a list of 5 reasons why less may be best when considering a new home.

1. Less Debt

It’s no secret that most Canadians are carrying crazy amounts of debt. But did you know that a recent study showed that more than 46% are $200 or less away from financial insolvency?

Less debt means more money in the bank and ultimately more security if ever financial hardships were to arise.

2. Minimalism

Its funny how fast you can fill up a large home when you are looking at blank walls. Small spaces have a good way of forcing you to purge what you no longer deem necessary.

3. Less Money Out

Smaller homes are not only cost effective in their initial purchase but are generally less expensive to heat and maintain as well.

4. Less Cleaning Time

Less wall space, less flooring, less area to clean in general.

5. Less Impact to the Environment.

Our energy efficient homes are built in factory, maximizing the material used resulting in less waste. Our building process also allows us to efficiently recycle what is left over from the building process.
